MIC Family Open Day
Mary Immaculate College is delighted to host its first Family Open Day on Sunday 5th October from 1pm – 4pm, opening up the campus to families, neighbours and friends, old and new. With a wide range of fun activities and entertainment for the young and the young at heart there is sure to be something for all to enjoy.
Entertainment on the day will include:
Puppet Making Workshops from MIC Theatre-in-Residence, Branar Téatar do Pháistí, Lime Tree Theatre stage @ 1.30pm / 2.30pm & 3.30pm
Public Talks on the Saint John’s Bible – Main Foyer
Live traditional music – Main Foyer
Tour of MIC’s art exhibitions @ 3.30pm - Main Foyer
Artisan food markets – TARA Building
Live jazz music – An tSlí, TARA Building
A range of children’s entertainment such as face painting, circus entertainment, giant games – Forum, TARA Building
Live Music Society - Forum, TARA Building
Seanchaí & Children's Storytime - Students' Lounge
Sport Skills Exhibitions – put your football and hurling skills to the test against some of MIC’s and GAA’s finest stars (and there might even be a cup or two on view!)
Guided tours of MIC’s state-of-the-art campus including backstage tours of the Lime Tree Theatre
Speaking in advance of the event Prof. Michael A Hayes, President of MIC, commented that while the College holds a special place in the hearts of Limerick people many have yet to view the remarkable changes that have taken place in the campus over the past decade.
“Mary Immaculate College is a beautiful place and we want to reveal this to all. This free event is our invitation to the wider community to come and see what is essentially part of our shared heritage and part of our shared future”.
